Ductibor® 500-AS150 is a highly ductile hot-stamped steel, suitable for components that require energy absorption. It has the following characteristics:
Good energy absorption capability.
Excellent corrosion resistance. No additional corrosion protection treatment is required after stamping.
Good formability during hot stamping, enabling the production of complex geometries.
No springback after stamping, ensuring dimensional accuracy of the parts.
Ductibor® 500-AS150 is mainly used in automotive structural and safety components. Specific applications include:
Front and rear side members: For energy absorption to reduce the impact of collisions on the vehicle and its occupants.
Lower B-pillar/door ring: To enhance the side impact resistance of the vehicle body and provide additional structural support.
Body structure components: Used in components that require high ductility and energy absorption capability, such as body frames and support structures.
Ductibor® 500-AS150 is often used in combination with ultra-high strength steels like Usibor® 1500. These materials are combined using laser welded blanks (LWB) technology to achieve lightweight and high-performance vehicle s structures.
